OMFG IT'S MAG!!!

Yes MAG (Massive Action Game) is released tomorrow! I pre-ordered it today so I could get the special bonus character and I AM PUMPED!

MAG is the official name of the game although the lengthened version of the name suits it well since it is the most massive FPS to date with the exception of 2. The first game larger than it, was Tabula Rasa, which was more a MMORPG than a FPS. The second was Huxley, which was canceled in development, and sold to IJJI games to be made into a computer exclusive free2play game. MAG has 256 real players per server and almost anything, from airstrikes to a battalion of tanks, can be controlled by a squad of players. There are 2 teams of 128 players each with multiple squads of 8 players. Each game puts you behind one soldier in a war, as you try and take control of enemy strongholds and shred enemy players. Get your blood-thirst going because it's going to get ugly out there.

Mag is officially rated T (Teen) by the ESRB, and can be purchased as such by people under 17 with no need for photo ID. Outside of north America the rating is pending as the game won't be released till later this month in the PAL region, and the JAP version of the game hasn't been officially announced yet.

I've never heard of this before. I looked up MAG on Google and came up with this strange website about the game your talking about. It was too confusing for me, so I just looked it up on YouTube.

Shame its only Playstation.

I've been following this game. Even though i only have an xbox. I remember reading that while it doesn't lag you arent actually fighting against 127 people. Its divided into squads.

it's 64, 128, or 256 players (depending on the game mode) all on one battlefield. there is a squad system but it is to focus a group of people towards one objective and you can only communicate with people in your squad. 8 players make a squad and 4 squads make a platoon. the smallest games are 1 platoon against 1 platoon, while the 256 player games that aren't unlocked until lvl 15 apparently, are 4 platoons vs 4 platoons. There is the occasional lag spike where you warp back a couple of meters, but overall the servers handle the load quite well. The lag on MAG is much more tolerable than games such as counterstrike.

Huh, 256 players possible in 1 battlefield? Pretty impressive.
